Product description

Official 1998 Goodwood Festival of Speed poster print.

World renowned motorsport artist Peter Hearsey has produced many of the official Festival of Speed posters and this is one of the most memorable.

1998 saw the festival celebrate the incredible motor racing achievements of Stuttgart's most famous export.

Peter's montage captures the elegance of Goodwood house, the precision of the RAF's Red Arrows display team, the iconic (and still much talked about Porsche sculpture that was erected on the grounds) and some of the most significant Porsche racing cars ever built.

From top to bottom:

Porsche 804 F1 - as driven to Porsche's only F1 win as constructor  by Dan Gurney, Rouen 1962.

Porsche 550 RS Spyder #419 - Hans Hermann and Hans Werner drove this car in the 1956 Mille Miglia - James Dean's "Little Bastard" was a similar vehicle

Porsche Audi 917PA Can-Am 1969 Shovelnose

Porsche 917/30 'Sunoco'

Porsche 935/78 'Moby Dick' - #43 as raced by Manfred Schurti, Reinhold Joest and Rolf Stommeln at the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Porsche 956C - Rothmans Porsche as driven by Jochen Mass and Stefan Bellof in the 1983 World Endurance Championship

Porsche 917K - Gulf Porsche #24 campaign by Jo Siffert and Brian Redman during 1970 - most famously in a brilliant 1,000km of Spa-Francorchamps duel with team mates Pedro Rodriguez and Leo Kinnunen.

Porsche 956C short tail - 1984 Le Mans entrant for Joest Racing driven by Volkert Merl, Dieter Schornstein and "John Winter" aka Louis Krages.

Porsche 936 - Martini Porsche won Le Mans three times with 936 cars, the one on this print represents a 1978 entry with Pescarolo, Ickx and Mass sharing driving duties.

The final image shows a pre-war Auto Union racer designed by Dr Ferdinand Porsche

Poster by Peter Hearsey. Capturing the spirit of Goodwood '98 with some of the German stars of the 1998 Festival of Speed. 594x840mm - 23.5x33in
