Product description

This is the complete David Brown Tractors Film History, bringing together all three volumes of producer David Wood's definitive documentary series.

Volume one, Around the World, presents unique film footage of David Brown tractors hard at work in several exotic locations around the world. With well over 80% of the tractors manufactured destined for export, DB products can be found in over 100 countries.
We kick-off our mini world tour in Nigeria - featuring DB 950s working hard on building sites in Lagos.
After a look at Nigerian importers Leventis Motors, we see DB tractors towing trailers at the airport and find DB 950s down at the docks. There is a Hurricane Harvester clearing the jungle, and locals training with a DB 950 and a disc plough.
Moving on to Syria, we see the contrast between oxen ploughing and Britain's finest tractors, along with DB 950 tractors driving a stone crusher and pumping water for irrigation.
Out in Ceylon, David Brown tractors are caught on film doing the work of elephants!
In the Philippines, we find various types of tractors hard at work on a large sugar plantation.
Meanwhile, out in the Far East, DB tractors get a taste of the orient working in paddy fields.
Moving on to the USA, we visit the company's stand at an agricultural show.
Finally, we complete the world tour by joining DB 950s out shrimping in the dangerous shifting sands of Morecambe Bay in the UK.

Volume two, Scrapbook, features tractors galore!
Firstly there's a DB 770 with its three-cylinder engine and 12 speed gearbox, ploughing at different depths, crop spraying and mowing.
On to the David Brown 1200 Selectomatic with its 72 hp engine and a separate hand operated clutch in action ploughing, rotovating, muck spreading and harvesting potatoes.
The action continues with snow clearing duties for one DB 950 tractor fitted with front mounted brush roller as it tackles the worst of the wintertime weather.
In the next section, we take a look at the unusual DB Hurricane Offset Harvester, which cuts in offset, but transports in line. This is followed closely by the DB 950 Implematic in action, with its one main control lever that controls all the implements with and without depth control wheels.
The final section of this fascinating Scrapbook shows a DB 950 Implematic taken straight off the assembly line and run for 6 days non stop - yes, non-stop ploughing with a four furrow 12 inch David Brown Albion plough to a depth of 7 inches!

The third volume, The Intelligent Tractor, presents unique film footage of the history of the American tractor company Case, who bought David Brown Tractors Ltd in 1972.
This 'intelligent tractor' DVD explains in detail the sophisticated electronic control centre of the Case 94 tractor. It takes a detailed look at working examples such as the 1494 and 1694 versions working hard in both the agricultural industry and on highway duties whist demonstrating all the main features of the Case 94.
Also featured are the Case 94 tractors over 110hp. All these models were produced in the USA, and includes the Case 2094, 2294, 4694 models and the powerful 277hp Case 4894 tractor in action.
In the final section of this fascinating programme, we have an in-depth look at the David Brown assembly line at Meltham, West Yorkshire. We follow the construction of a tractor from the engine, transmission and hydraulics - right through to the fitting of the cab, bodywork and, finally, the wheels.
