host to some of the most thrilling and tension-filled high-speed showdowns the
sport has ever seen. This awesome compilation brings together comprehensive
highlights from six classic years, including some footage never previously

From 1984 to 1989 the Manx Rally played a pivotal role in
the outcome of the British Open Championship, actually seeing the title winner
decided five times in a row. The action-packed footage in this DVD lets you
relive the drama and controversy from each year as the biggest names in
rallying take on the challenging special stages of the Isle of Man, with the
tight and twisting roads and lanes regularly living up to their reputation as
car-breakers.
Manx Rallies of the 1980s features an all-star cast of great
drivers, led by five-times British Champion Jimmy McRae, Russell Brookes, Mark
Lovell, Malcolm Wilson, Tony Pond, Bertie Fisher and Pentti Airikkala, with stunning appearances by the
likes of Roger Clark, Hannu Mikkola, Juha Kankkunen, Michelle Mouton and a
young Colin McRae, who puts in a typically stunning performance.

So the picture qulity is debateable, the camera work is occasionally shoddy and the commentary is frequently awful. However, if you have a soft spot for Metro 6R4s, Audi Quattros and Ford Sierra Cosworths you'll love it. The best year of all is 1989, when a Belgian chap called Patrick Snijers turned up in a BMW and wiped the floor with the British regulars.
