Superb review of the '87 Lombard RAC Rally. Nearly 200 cars lined up in historic Chester to tackle the forests of Wales, Yorkshire and Scotland, as well as a number of 'spectator' stages in the grounds of stately homes around the country. With Miki Biasion having completed his event programme, it was up to the other Lancia drivers Juha Kankkunen and Markku Alen to see if they could snatch it away from him in the final round. But it was not simply a two-horse race: Martini Lancia had further representation in the shape of Mikael Ericsson, while former British champion Russell Brookes had also switched from Opel to Lancia for the occasion. Jimmy McRae, meanwhile, had moved from Lancia to Ford Sierra Cosworth earlier in the year, to great effect. All the action and excitement is captured in this comprehensive review so...let the VCR roll!
