The 1989 season saw lots of expensive bits and pieces flying through the air, including a few drivers - none of whom were badly hurt. This catalogue of catastrophes spanned eleven frenzied rounds in climatic conditions ranging from Spain to Germany. The Cosworth Sierras of Bjorn Skogstad and Trevor Reeves were hard to beat in Division 1 but Anders Norstedt in his SAAB 900 Turbo 16 a tough opponent. In Division 2, 1989 provided some classic duels between the RS200 of Martin Schanche and the Peugeot 205 T16 of Matti Alamaki. Watch out for Will Gollop and Steve Palmer (both MG Metro 6R4s).
