    Product description

1991 was the year when the normally so dominant Honda Marlboro McLaren team received a shock!

The Williams-Renaults, when reliable, were by far the most competitive cars in the Championship.  Ferrari, after pushing McLaren all the way last year, proved to be the stars of winter testing, but when the 'real' racing started, the team fell into disarray and finished the season a sad and distant third, clouded in controversy.

Benetton's highpoint was winning the Canadian Grand Prix and introducing the most dynamic new driver of the season, Michael Schumacher, into Formula One.

Newcomers Jordan were a breath of fresh air. With a combination of youthful enthusiasm and a sound professional approach, they performed superbly to take 'best of the rest' in the Constructor's Trophy and a new engine contract for '92.

Ayrton Senna thoroughly dominated the early races of the '91 Championship, but it soon developed into a tense two-way battle as Nigel Mansell clawed his Williams-Renault into contention.  New venues in Magny-Cours and Barcelona proved a fantastic success in their first year and with ever-increasing spectator enthusiasm and media interest, the FIA Formula One World Championship continues to be at the pinnacle of world motorsport.

The reason is clearly shown in this 160 minute compilation of the 1991 FIA Formula One World championship, packed with unseen film material including interviews and on-board camera shots held back especially for you to enjoy and making this, the official FIA review an essential record of 1991.
