Classic TT 2015

The 2015 Isle of Man Classic TT presented by Bennetts saw records tumble amidst sunshine, big crowds and brilliant entertainment.

The paddock was swinging to the sound of the Bluejay’s rock ‘n’ roll beat as classic bikes paraded and the ton up boys strutted their stuff – the ‘50s were back in town as the Isle of Man paid tribute to Norton and the great Geoff Duke.

Fans were treated to the sight of the sole surviving 1950 works ‘Featherbed’ Norton back on the Mountain Course, in the hands of 2015 TT Superbike winner Bruce Anstey dressed in appropriate leathers and helmet to represent Geoff’s winning Senior TT ride.

There was even more excitement in store as nineteen original rotary-engined Nortons took to the circuit to honour the part played by Steve Hislop, Robert Dunlop, Trevor Nation and Steve Spray in helping the brand stay in the limelight through the ‘80s and ‘90s – culminating Hizzy’s sensational Senior win in 1992.

It wasn’t just about parades though, there was also the serious business of three big races: 500cc Senior Classic, 350cc Junior classic and the headlining Formula 1 TT Classic. Records were smashed in all three races and Bruce Anstey had additional reason to smile as he screamed round the course at 126mph+ to set a new Classic TT absolute record – not bad for a twenty year old YZR500!

This official Review of the events brings together the best of the action with the authentic atmosphere of classic motorcycle racing which can only be found on the Isle of Man’s near legendary Mountain.
