Marsden Rail Series Great Central Pt 2 Nottingham to Marylebone DVD - Description
In the second volume of Great Central, we look at Staveley G C engine depot and ride on a Class O4 freight locomotive. We watch another O4 shunt the exchange sidings at Heath and continue the journey southwards begun at Sheffield Victoria in Marsden Rail Volumeume 10, ‘Sheffield to Nottingham’. After looking at trains at Wilford Brickyard we join 4472 ‘Flying Scotsman’ at Nottingham Victoria on 15th June 1963 and travel down the London Extension to Marylebone, pausing to look at passing traffic at Ruddington, Leicester, Rugby and Woodford Halse. After looking around Marylebone we commence our journey home behind ‘Flying Scotsman’ although the journey to Nottingham Victoria is completed behind a Stanier Class 5 Loco on a ‘semi-fast’ and on arrival at Nottingham some of the ‘last day’ workings on the are shown.
