Love them or hate them, Class 66 locos are
now a massive part of Britain's
rail freight today.
From Inverness to Penzance,
these locos can be found on all types of train from the humble engineers wagons
right through to the lengthy coal trains and colourful high speed container
trains.
Operating in four distinct liveries for
four different companies, this programme takes a country-wide tour looking at
these locos.
Split into four sections, each is
introduced with loco facts and figures and then into the action with dozens of
run-past shots, showing as many different types of trains as possible.
Highlights include:
- The off-loading of the orange and blue 66/7
GBRf locos on the docks at Newport
- Double headers
- Some stunning night footage
- And the latest locos, the 66/4s, in blue
livery for DRS.
