Coverage of MER operations from the spring
of 2008.
With the line between Laxey and Ramsey
closed for track renewal this programme takes a look at the truncated Douglas -
Laxey service with interesting footage of three days operations in late May.
Although only three sets were required,
cars 5, 6, 9, 19 and 22 were all used with various trailers including the
pairing of car 5 - fully repaired after an accident - and 'Wheelchair' trailer
56.
In superb sunny weather, see the various
combinations including newly painted cars 19, 40 and 46.
North of Laxey the scene is very different
with a huge track renewal programme in place.
See amazing footage of a road/rail crane
lifting and snapping the old rails at Ballaragh and 'Bertie' the diesel with
trailer 45.
