This is the full story of the roughest world championship powerboat race since the series began in 1966. The course runs along Key West and if it’s windy one side of the course is protected and calm, whilst the other side can be very different! This 1981 race is particularly fascinating because of the direct confrontation of the catamarans which suit calm water and the monohulls which cope better with rough seas. Witness an extravaganza of marine power with racers Paul Clauser and Ted Toleman both in catamarans being challenged by the monohull of Jerry Jacoby.
