The international field included current Burghley Champion Andrew Nicholson (NZL), 3 times Badminton winner Ian Stark (GB) and the 51-year-old former World Champion Bruce Davidson (USA) with 3 horses in the top ten. Also challenging for top honours with 3 rides was Australia's 'Mr Dependable', Phillip Dutton.
