Reflexology on the soles of the feet is an ancient science
which has been recognised for thousands of years, and which developed into its present
form during the 1930s.
It considers the feet as the “mirrors of the body”, and each
organ, gland or part of the human body corresponds to an area or zone of the
foot, known as the reflex zone.
By simply pressing your thumbs on each of these reflex zones,
it is possible to identify any signs of tension and to re-establish the balance
of energy in the body.
The programme is presented by Melanie Blanchard, who is a
reflexologist and also practises Shiatsu on patients in the sitting position.
By explaining and demonstrating her methods, her aim is to
make it possible for you to soothe away pains or tensions felt by those around
you.
At the end of the programme, we shall also show you some
Thai reflexology movements, as well as give you some guidance with regard to
hand massage.
