The latest addition to Peter Hearsey’s collectable TT Legends series is the current undisputed ‘King of the Mountain’, John McGuinness. This exceptional artwork was unveiled during the 2009 TT, when the Morecambe missile notched up his 15th win – top become the second most successful rider ever around the Mountain circuit – and set a new outright lap record with a staggering average speed of 131.378mph for the 37¾-mile course.
This painting captures McGuinness on board the HM Plant Honda Superbike which carried him to his 13th TT victory during the Centenary TT Celebrations in 2007. This was also the machine on which McGuinness became the first man ever to lap the TT course at more than 130mph, with an average speed of 130.354mph.
