Steam at Work takes you to some of the finest preserved steam lines in Britain today - the Swanage Railway, North Yorkshire Moors, Kent and East Sussex and the Severn Valley - to see how those enthusiasts dedicated to maintaining the fine tradition of British steam are keeping our heritage alive. Highlights include the 1974 grand re-opening of the Kent and East Sussex and a high speed footplate view of the complete journey from Swanage to Norden. Steam at Work also looks back to the golden days of steam, with much rare archive material previously unavailable on DVD. See the Swanage branch and Kent and East Sussex at work in the 1960s and the first track laying of the re-laid Swanage branch in 1979, as well as the last operational day of the Longmoor Military Railway and landslip track clearance on the Southern.
