Caribbean Calypso - West Indie - Description

It had been 36 years since England last beat the West Indies in their own backyard, but, with some match winning performances from Steve Harmison, Graham Thorpe, Matthew Hoggard, and Andrew Flintoff England pulled off a truly historic series win.

It all started with a tremendous bowling performance by Harmison in Jamaica where he took a staggering 7 for 12. In Trinidad England cruised to a seven wicket victory with the help of Harmison's 6 for 61 and Thorpe's 90 in the first innings. Then to Barbados where in the first innings Flintoff bowled 5 for 58 and Thorpe's 119 not out rekindled England's chances of a win. Some explosive bowling by Hoggard in the second innings when he grabbed three wickets in a row destroyed the West Indies middle order, and England were 3-0 up in the 4 match series.

Then, incredibly in the fourth and final Test in Antigua, Brian Lara restored some home pride by scoring a world record 400 not out and thus denying England the whitewash they so wanted. It was the second time Lara had broken the world record, also at Antigua and also against England ten years earlier.

Highlights of this amazing Test series are now captured on this DVD to marvel at over and over again.>!!
