Monte Carlo Rally 1991 VHS - Description
The first and most glamorous rally event of the 1991 season got off to a promising start at Monaco with World Champion Carlos Sainz attacking from the first green light! Lancia lacked its usual confidence despite having drivers Miki Biasion, Juha Kankkunen, Bruno Saby, Yves Loubet and Didier Auriol. Frenchman Francois Delecour (and his pretty, blue-eyed co-driver Anne-Chantal Pauwels) was the star of the event in the Ford Sierra Cosworth 4x4. Armin Schwartz (Toyota Celica GT-4), Timo Salonen (Mitsubishi Galant VR-4), Jesus Puras (Mazda 323 GTX) and Ronald Holzer (Mitsubishi Galant VR-4) also competed in a rally full of surprises! All-in-all, an excellent start to what was an exciting new series.
