The biggest motor rally event of all times was undoubtedly the 'World Cup Rally'.
This film compresses the route from the Wembley Stadium, through 25 countries and 16,000 miles, into 23 minutes of drama and action, ending on a triumphant note for Hannu Mikkola and Gunnar Palm as they led four other Ford Escorts to the winner's rostrum in Mexico City.
The commentary is interspersed with a lot of "on the spot" remarks by drivers, mechanics and rally managers. This is essentially an atmosphere film of what was undoubtedly the longest, toughest trial for cars and drivers that has ever been devised.
Also features RAC Rally 1977. One of the greatest victories for the Ford works team was the '77 RAC Rally when Escorts finished 1-3-4-5-6.
This film, which features no commentary, brings exceptional action from this event and lets the Escorts do the talking!
