In Ulster and the Isle of Man the Manta 400 was the car to have. Russell Brookes took victory in both rounds, closely followed by fellow Opel driver Jimmy McRae.
In Ulster the final podium position was taken by the Quattro of Harald Demuth, but on the high-speed tarmac of the Isle of Man it was an Opel 1-2-3 as Bertie Fisher brought his Manta home third.
