Introduction

Description

Marlboro McLaren's reigning World Champion Alain Prost went to Hockenheim determined to end the remarkable run of success being enjoyed by Nigel Mansell's Canon Williams-Honda team. Mansell was in superb form following his French and British victories. This video shows the two drivers in action, as well as the challenge mounted by the rest of the world's top teams, as they tackle the tight infield bowl, two long fast straights and chicanes. The two team's other leaders, Nelson Piquet and Keke Rosberg could confidently expect to be in contention too, with Prost's consistency perhaps overhauling the four-point deficit on Mansell.
