Imola, one of the longest circuits in the GP calendar, presents drivers with a demanding variety of corners, as well as a greater rise and fall than most others. Ferrari, racing only a few miles away from their home base at Maranello, were looking for an improvement on their poor early season performances. Arnoux does not disappoint them. Brabham's Piquet and Fabi seek reliability above all, although the power output of the BMW engines is not in doubt. Watch especially for Niki Lauda's meteoric charge through the field and Alain Prost's McLaren. He dominates the race in fine style despite a spectacular spin right in front of the cameras! |
