The 2000 series had the crowds on tenterhooks from the start right through to the dramatic, floodlit final at Silverstone when three drivers stood a chance of winning the covetted crown. This official end-of-season video review captures the many unique elements that make the BTCC the world’s leading saloon racing series. It also marks the last appearance for cars built to Super Touring specifications and celebrates a fantastic year for Team Ford Mondeo. Alain Menu, Anthony Reid and Rickard Rydell may be great teammates but their fierce on-track rivalry meant there’d be no let up in the battle for championship honours. Look out too for Gabriele Tarquini (Honda Accord), Yvan Muller (Vauxhall Vectra) and Jason Plato (Vauxhall Vectra), on the pace throughout the season. Once again breathtaking pictures provided by BHP (as seen on BBC Grandstand plus plenty more you won’t have seen!) take you right into the thick of the action both trackside and in-car at all 12 rounds on Britain’s top circuits. BBC commentators Charlie Cox and John Watson deliver the detailed off-track analysis and many fascinating insights into the teams, drivers and pit crews. This is BTCC at its very best!
