For the five years in which the D-Types featured strongly at Le Mans, Random Film Productions were contracted by Jaguar Cars to record the cars activities. After four superb years at Le Mans, 1958 brought disappointment for the Jaguar D-Types when, after a series of accidents and engine failures, every D-Type retired, bringing their dominance of the event to a sad end.
