THE 2009
GOODWOOD REVIVAL BROUGHT TOGETHER ALL OF THE GLAMOUR AND ROMANCE OF MOTOR
RACING AS IT USED TO BE, WITH A RECORD 134,000 SPECTATORS ENJOYING THREE DAYS
OF EXCITING WHEEL-TO-WHEEL RACING AT THE WORLD’S LARGEST AND MOST AUTHENTIC
HISTORIC MOTOR RACE MEETING.
The 2009 Revival
saw many of the world’s most renowned racing names dicing in some of the rarest
and most valuable historic racing machines. The who’s who of drivers racing
included leading current Formula One influencers Adrian Newey and Christian
Horner. Revival stalwarts included Sir Stirling Moss – celebrating his 80th
birthday at the event – plus Derek Bell, Jochen Mass, Bobby Rahal and Eddie
Cheever, as well as Goodwood newcomers Oliver Gavin and Danny Sullivan, who
both put on a fine show for the racing fans.
Racing
highlights included the thrilling St Mary’s race for saloon cars, which this
year was held exclusively as a Mini-only race to honour the 50th anniversary of
Britain’s
most popular small car, plus the world’s most valuable car grid for the RAC
Tourist Trophy Race. The 2009 Revival wasn’t just about the thrill of the race,
however. It’s a truly magical step back in time and a fabulous opportunity to
revel in the halcyon days of motor racing at a circuit unchanged from its
heyday. Visitors entered into the spirit of the event by dressing in period
fashions, including start visitors such as astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Mr Bean,
making his first ever live public appearance, driving from his armchair mounted
on the roof of his Mini!
This DVD covers
all of the action, both on and off the track, and in the skies, and captures
the theatre and glamour in the paddocks. Sit back and enjoy the thrills and
excitement of motor racing the way it used to be.
