TT 1989 - Production 1300 & Junior Races VHS - Description
A sad and controversial race tainted by tragedy and serious injury. The race became a running battle between the whispering giants of Leach, (1000 Yamaha), Nick Jefferies (1000 Yamaha), Alan Batson (1000 Yamaha) and Howard Selby (1000 Yamaha).
What the Junior event lacked in cubic capacity, it more than made up for in very fast-moving action which included some spectacular incidents. TT hero and top favourite Steve Hislop vacated his machine while travelling at 135 mph. Unfazed he walked to the nearest vantage point and joined the spectators. Eddie Laycock (250 Yamaha) achieved a new lap record but Carl Fogarty (250 Honda) had little to smile about.
