Speedway World Cup 2001 VHS - Description

Spectacular, all-action review of the inaugural Speedway World Cup!

National pride was at fever pitch as twelve countries took to the shale for the inaugural Ove Fundin Trophy - the glittering new prize for the best speedway team in the world!

Packed stadiums in Gdansk and Wroclaw in Poland watched in eager anticipation as speedway stars including Mark Loram (GB, 2000 World Champion), Scott Nicholls (GB), Jason Crump (Aus), Tony Rickardsson (Sweden), Sebastian Ulamek (Poland) and Greg Hancock (USA) battled round the oval for their respective national squads in a breathtaking blaze of dirt track spills and thrills. The competition was further heightened by the new race formula - as five riders instead of the usual four took to the track.

It was a closely fought affair. Host nation Poland found themselves going into the last heat leading Australia by just one point! Could they do enough to hold on?

Find out in this official review, sizzling with electric atmosphere, colour, passion and excitement and recording speedway's elite in one of the hottest contests of the year!
