The 1990 Motocross GP season was as full of surprises as it was of action. Hot favourite and world champion Dave Thorpe ran into a squall of heavy problems throughout the series. A new star appeared on the circuits in the form of teenage sensation Paul Mallin (Kawasaki). Former world champion Eric Geboers (Chambers Honda) headed a formidable Belgian squad, including Marc Velkeneers (Kawasaki) Together with Jacky Martens (KTM), British champion Kurt Nicoll (KTM), Mervyn Anstie (Honda), Dirk Geukens (Honda), Billy Liles (Kawasaki) and Jeff Liesk (Honda), they produced some awesome displays of devastating riding - in what proved to be an exciting season.
