Erik Geboers of Belgium (Suzuki) took an early lead fighting off challenges from Finn Pekka Vehkonen and American 'Diamond Jim' Gibson (Yamaha). The 1983 Dutch 125 cc Motocross GP proved to be a real thriller from start to finish and these dirtbike specialists together with John Hensen (Yamaha), Michele Rinaldi (Suzuki) and Alain Lejeune (Honda) thrilled the watching crowds.
