He was definitively known as “The Man” to motocross racers and fans around the world and his five world championships were only part of the reason. DeCoster’s name is synonymous with motocross because he embodied everything that every racer wants to be.
He grew up in Belgium with humble surroundings and slowly worked his way to the top becoming motocross royalty around the globe. After retiring from racing in 1980 he launched a new career in America developing the US riders to become the best in the world.
