Sport climbers Tori Allen and Scott Cory attempt to become the youngest people to climb Yosemite's El Capitan. Yet, they've never been more than 100 foot off the ground. How they'll respond to a multi-day adventure up a 3,000 foot wall is anybody's guess. With very little planning, they embark on a 5-day adventure into history.
Wall Rats is not your typical climbing film. It's a documentary targeted to kids and their parents that's been wowing audiences across the nation.
Award-winning film-maker Steve Edwards has teamed up with climbing legend Hans Florine to create a cross-generational experience of what life on a big wall might be like for someone with very little experience. Wall Rats has won the kid's award at every festival that's had one and has been well received at others, including front page headlines at the Tahoe-Reno International Film Festival.
According to Kathy Dotson, director of the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival, "Even though it only played in the kid's slot, it got a lot of votes (over Grizzly Man, Trudell, What Remains of Us, Real Dirt on Farmer John) for best film overall."
